LANC Privacy Policy

LANC is designed as a local-first cycling system. Most of your bike, gear, service, cost and build data stays on your device unless you choose to use optional integrations.

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Summary

  • LANC does not include advertising.
  • LANC does not sell your data.
  • LANC does not include tracking SDKs.
  • Strava and WeatherKit are optional.
  • Most app data is stored locally on your device.

Data Stored Locally

LANC can store the information you add to the app, including:

  • bikes, bike names, brands, models, years, notes and mileage,
  • components, compatibility standards and wheelset profiles,
  • service entries, service notes and service costs,
  • expenses, upgrade history and build versions,
  • Gear items, Gear Kit data, condition, batteries, storage and consumables,
  • photos you choose to attach to bikes, components or service records,
  • local backups and exported files you create from the app.

This data is stored on your device using local Apple storage technologies. LANC does not operate a server that receives this data.

Photos

If you add photos, LANC stores the selected images locally as part of your app data. The app does not upload your photos to a LANC server.

Local Backup

LANC may allow you to export or import a local backup. Backup files are created only when you choose to create them. If you share a backup file outside the app, the privacy of that file depends on where you store or send it.

Strava

Strava integration is optional. If you choose to connect Strava, LANC uses the official Strava OAuth flow to request access. LANC does not ask for or store your Strava password.

When connected, LANC may access Strava data needed for app features, such as:

  • activity summaries,
  • bike mileage and gear information,
  • ride statistics used for analytics and upgrade insights.

Strava tokens are stored locally on your device. You can disconnect Strava in the app. Strava's own handling of your data is governed by Strava's privacy policy.

WeatherKit and Location

WeatherKit is optional and used to improve Ride Plan decisions. If you allow location access, LANC can use your current location to request weather conditions for the ride time you select.

LANC does not use location for advertising, tracking or background profiling. If location permission is denied, Ride Plan still works with manual weather selection.

No Advertising or Tracking

LANC does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics tracking SDKs or data brokers. LANC does not sell personal data.

Feedback and Support

If you send feedback by email, your email address and message are handled by your email provider and received by LANC support. Do not include sensitive information unless it is necessary for your support request.

Deleting Data

You can delete bikes, gear, service entries and other records inside the app where those actions are available. Deleting the app from your device removes local app data from that device. Disconnecting Strava removes the local Strava connection from LANC.

Children

LANC is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as LANC evolves. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
